Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It sets cookies and sends Google your IP address, browser details and the pages you view. On the "near me" page it gets the address without your location. See how Google uses this data. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or your browser's privacy settings.

Your location

To show tomorrow's weather where you are, the home page estimates your town from your internet (IP) address, using ipwho.is or, if that's unavailable, ipapi.co. Your browser contacts them directly. We don't ask for permission because this doesn't use your device's location.

If you click "Use my location", your browser asks before sharing your device's position. We round it to about a kilometre and send it to Open-Meteo for the forecast and to BigDataCloud for the place name.

Forecasts

Your browser fetches forecasts from Open-Meteo. That request includes the coordinates of the town or place you're viewing.

Stored in your browser

Forecasts are kept in your browser's local storage for 30 minutes so pages load faster. If you used "Use my location", the place you chose is remembered too. None of this is sent to us. Clear your browser's site data to remove it.

What we keep
